It was December 11, 2004 and I was 39 weeks pregnant. Steven had the day off and I was complaining of cramping in my lower abdomen. To get my mind off of "what might happen" we decided to go out to eat at Panda Express. I don't remember what I ate as I was so sick to my stomach. We walked around for a while, window shopping, when I told him we had to go home so I could lay down.
It was 8pm when I decided to start timimg the contractions. By 9pm I called the doctor because my contractions were 5 minutes apart. He said to head down to the hospital because it sounded like I was about to have a baby!
We arrived at the hospital 30 minutes later and I could barely walk through the doors. The contractions were so bad I thought they were going to kill me, right then and there.
Sure enough, I was 5 cm dilated and well on my way to becoming a mom! The epi I received was my best friend as I was able to enjoy the birth of my new baby boy. By 4:45am on December 12, 2004 my little 8 lb 2 oz baby was here!
Ashton is the sweetest most loving child. He loves to cuddle and hold hands. He always wants to help me with Preston and truly cares about other people's feelings. He has always been a big hit with the girls in school and has no problem meeting new friends. He's already reading and writing in school and his teacher loves him. When he grows up he wants to be a Dentist or Chef!
